Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 1/3 cup pine nuts
  • 23 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 23 tbsp lemon juice
  • 23 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry basil leaves.
  2. Lightly toast pine nuts.
  3. Add basil, nuts, and garlic to food processor.
  4. Pulse until chopped.
  5. Slowly add olive oil while blending.
  6. Add lemon juice, nutritional yeast, salt, and pepper.
  7. Blend until smooth but slightly textured.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning.

Notes

Use fresh basil for best flavor. Store with a thin layer of olive oil on top to keep it green and fresh. Freeze in small portions for convenience.
