- 2 cups fresh basil leaves
- 1/3 cup pine nuts
- 2–3 garlic cloves
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 2–3 tbsp lemon juice
- 2–3 tbsp nutritional yeast
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Wash and dry basil leaves.
- Lightly toast pine nuts.
- Add basil, nuts, and garlic to food processor.
- Pulse until chopped.
- Slowly add olive oil while blending.
- Add lemon juice, nutritional yeast, salt, and pepper.
- Blend until smooth but slightly textured.
- Taste and adjust seasoning.
Notes
Use fresh basil for best flavor. Store with a thin layer of olive oil on top to keep it green and fresh. Freeze in small portions for convenience.
