tomato paste
1 tbsp
ground cumin
1 tsp
paprika
1 tsp
oregano
1/2 tsp
fresh cilantro
1/4 cup, chopped
Instructions
In a large bowl, mix masa harina, flour, and salt
Gradually add warm water until a dough forms
Knead for 5 minutes, cover, and let rest 15 minutes
Press dough into 12 round shells using crumpled tinfoil as a mold
Heat oil in a deep skillet. Fry shells until puffed and golden
Sauté onion and garlic until softened
Add beef, cumin, paprika, oregano, and tomato paste
Cook until beef is browned and mixture thickens
Stuff shells with meat mixture and top with cilantro
Notes
Use tinfoil for consistent shell shapes
Vegetarian alternative: substitute beef with sautéed black beans
Fry shells in batches to prevent overcrowding
Store filled tacos in the oven at 200°F (95°C) if not serving immediately
