- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mash bananas in a large bowl until mostly smooth.
- Stir in sugars, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until combined.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
- Fold dry ingredients into banana mixture until just combined.
- Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour batter into loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake 55-65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for best flavor. Optional add-ins include nuts or chocolate chips. Store at room temperature for up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Warm slices in microwave for a fresh-from-the-oven taste.
