Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (85/15 lean for best moisture)
2 tbsp taco seasoning (vegetarian-free and alcohol-free)
1/2 cup chopped onions (yellow or red onions)
6 tortillas (corn or flour)
1 cup lettuce (romaine for crisp texture)
1 large tomato (diced)
1 small lime (wedges)
1/4 cup cilantro (optional but recommended)
Instructions
Combine the ground beef with taco seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sauté the chopped onions until softened and golden (about 3-4 minutes).
Increase the heat to high and add the seasoned beef to the skillet, breaking it into small pieces with a spoon.
Cook the beef undisturbed until it starts to brown, then continue cooking until all the beef is cooked through and the onions are fully incorporated.
Deglaze the pan with a splash of hot water or broth and cook for 1-2 minutes to deepen the flavor.
Warm the tortillas in a dry pan.
Assemble the tacos with cooked beef, lettuce, tomato, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime.
Notes
Ensure the taco seasoning used is alcohol-free and vegetarian-free.
Warm the tortillas before assembling to enhance their flavor and texture.
Add your favorite toppings such as avocado, pickled jalapeños, or spicy sauce for extra flavor.
Leftover beef can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
