- 2 cups fresh cherries
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter a baking dish.
- Spread cherries evenly in the dish.
- Whisk eggs and sugar until slightly pale.
- Add milk and vanilla and mix.
- Add flour and salt and whisk until smooth.
- Pour batter over cherries.
- Bake 35–40 minutes until golden and set.
- Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Use fresh cherries for best flavor. Batter can rest a few minutes before baking. Serve warm for best texture. Store leftovers in refrigerator for up to 2 days.
