- 200g plain flour
- 200g sugar
- 75g cocoa powder
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- 1.5 tsp baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 240ml milk
- 120ml vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 240ml hot water
- 200g dark chocolate
- 200g butter
- 250g icing sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare tins.
- Mix dry ingredients.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla.
- Stir in hot water.
- Pour batter into tins and bake.
- Cool completely.
- Prepare frosting by mixing butter, sugar, and melted chocolate.
- Assemble and frost cake.
Notes
Use hot water for a moist texture. Let cake cool before frosting. Store covered. Decorate with candles or berries.
