Ingredients

  • 200g plain flour
  • 200g sugar
  • 75g cocoa powder
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1.5 tsp baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 240ml milk
  • 120ml vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 240ml hot water
  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 200g butter
  • 250g icing sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare tins.
  2. Mix dry ingredients.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla.
  4. Stir in hot water.
  5. Pour batter into tins and bake.
  6. Cool completely.
  7. Prepare frosting by mixing butter, sugar, and melted chocolate.
  8. Assemble and frost cake.

Notes

Use hot water for a moist texture. Let cake cool before frosting. Store covered. Decorate with candles or berries.
