Ingredients

  • 500g fresh cherries
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons Kirsch
  • Pinch of salt
  • Butter for greasing
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter a baking dish.
  2. Arrange cherries evenly in the dish.
  3. Whisk eggs and sugar until light.
  4. Add milk, vanilla, and Kirsch and mix well.
  5. Whisk in flour and salt until smooth.
  6. Pour batter over cherries.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes until set and golden.
  8. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Kirsch adds a subtle cherry flavor but can be omitted. Use pitted cherries for convenience. Serve warm or chilled. Store in refrigerator up to 2 days.
